Playing with Pastel Shades

Timeless color piece of clothing will never go out of style. That's why, there are tons of versatile ways on how to look fashionable in pastel clothes even when everything around you is DARK and GLOOMY. It's time to break the fashion rule of wearing pastel shades only during spring and summer season. If you love the pastel trend, then you must be an adventurous person. Because these shades needs TOTAL CONFIDENCE, for you to be able to pull it off. As for me, whenever I see any PASTEL COLORS, it will automatically soften my mood. If you could still recall my last entry, I was kind of a bit on my edgy/boyish side. But, this time, I'm in the mood for an innocent, romantic and sweet kind of girl. Well, perhaps! I believe that wearing any pastel shades makes everything so relaxing, calm and ethereal (RIGHT???). However, If you are a beginner in the world of pastels, then I recommend you to just stick to the rules. And you will be always in center of everyone's attention. Moreover, we all know that soft hues are a classic spring staple and are timeless enough that you can wear them year after year, yet when styled just right, they're also super trendy and cool. However, you just need to keep things more basic and preferably use one or maximum two pastel colored garments in one outfit. The most important thing to remember is you need to rock the outfit with confidence. After reading this article, you'll be amazed on how much you can play with pastel colors. I'll be giving you, ladies, tons of ways on how you can astound the citizens with that girly-girly fit of yours.

After so many attention-grabbing PRINTS and BOLD colors, these cotton candy shades come to rectify things and please the eye. So, why not try to match my outfit with a pastel colored bag that screams versatility. This petite sling bag from FIЀVRE will go to perfection with pretty much anything (How cute isn't it?). And I know for sure, that it'll be my new fave go-to bag.

Pairing a pale, pastel handbag with this outfit is such a beautiful look.

Well, in some cases.... Since pastel hues are soft and feminine, your overall accessories should be extremely subtle so it doesn’t overpower your outfit. Because they can wash you out, look too ‘sweet’ or take you back to your children’s years!

However, If you’ve been wondering how to wear pastels but don’t want to consign to the style just yet, start with some sweet accessories. Like incorporating pastels onto your bag/purse/jewelries or even with your specs, to make an outstanding impression. Trust me, ladies! As you will not be disappointed by the ULTRA-FLIRTY results.

How haute my specs are? It’s the perfect way to add a little spice to a saccharine outfit, such as these.

What's not to love?

It’s also fun to wear pastels with BRIGHTER SHADES. Like pairing my blush pink with this bright orange blazer. In this way, I was able to also decrease the exaggerated sweetness and femininity of pastels. And at the same time showing off my creativity and unique taste in style. In this case too, pay attention to the color wheel. Don't just mix and match bright with pastel colors.

Pastel colors with PRINTS and PATTERNS? Because, why not? Experiment on different designs for your outfit. Pastel colored clothes look particularly captivating and dreamy in combination with printed and patterned pieces, most especially when those patterns feature pastel tones.

It's such a lovely juxtaposition of sweet and edgy.

Forget any fashion rules you think that you may know, and throw them out the window. When it comes to style, it's only your perspective that matters.

Obviously, if we talk about pastel colors, we can’t go without speaking of lipstick: it changes the look in no time! You have to dare wearing bright lipstick at least once in your lifetime. If you feel less adventurous, you can simply add a cute pink pastel on your lips. Only that and you’ll look amazing! And when figuring out how to wear pastels, remember this key tip: keep your hair and makeup simple.

STYLE TIP 101:

DO's

- With Neutrals. Make your pastel piece pop by keeping the rest of your color palette simple. Break the monotony with some pastel shade, if you're up for neutral shades to make your fit more lively. Pastels look incredible with gray and cream tones as well.

- Mixed Pastels. Pair a few different pastel colors together for a soft yet bold look. Always remember that Pastels go well with other pastels. Take note that, dark skinned girls look great in lighter, more “creamy” tones, while women with a lighter skin color should go for coffee tones and richer pastel shades.

- With Bright. Add a little edge to the softness of the pastel with bright, fun accessories.

- You can also pair it with a printed bottom which as the same color as the top.

- Wear very soft and light colors for it to work at the office. Try to calm things down by not to overdo the sweetness manner of pastels. Just stick to the minimalism rule and you are good to seize the day at work.

DON'Ts

- Since these super soft hues are already as girly as it gets, avoid obsessing over the detailing. As much as possible just keep your fabrics plain.

- It would be a fashion disaster if you're going to overdo your whole outfit. Like adding some stock-up lace (ehem-ehem). You better not incorporate it, or else I'll be calling a fashion police to come and get you (HAHA).

- You don't have to think too much of what pastels that will suit your skin tone. Because of the fact that they seem to work on everyone (LUCKY, right?).

- Don't forget to be "SOPHISTICATED", when choosing the right item/s.

So go have fun with this trend SWEETHEARTS and do embrace your femininity!
